A letter from President Julio Frenk

To Our University of Miami Community,

As we approach our 100th anniversary in 2025, we are sharply focused on emerging from our first century and into our second century as a global university. Our sights are set on achieving the goals set out in the Roadmap to Our New Century—our 10-year strategic plan—in support of the University of Miami’s mission of transforming lives through education, research, innovation, and service.

Our crowning achievement this year was being invited to join the Association of American Universities (AAU), which is a distinguished national organization considered the gold standard in American research universities. Being selected unanimously by peers as an AAU member signifies that the University of Miami is a leader in both research and education. We are one of the youngest universities invited to join this time and one of only a handful of AAU members founded in the 20th century. AAU membership represents myriad opportunities for our university, not the least of which is the opportunity to continue to attract innovators and top talent.

This year’s report outlines achievements in our academic core, health system, tech innovation, athletics, and operational efficiency, and highlights the many ways in which we continue to meet today’s challenges, make innovative discoveries, and deliver world-class education and health care.

Our continued success relies on the collective spirit and unwavering dedication that each member of our community brings.

Sincerely,
